Our next club shoot is the Old Geezer Shoot scheduled for Saturday July 22 at 9 am. This shoot will be one round of trap and one round of skeet. The entry fee is $5.00 plus two rounds to be logged on your log sheet. The entry fee includes a, pork chop sandwich lunch. The age brackets are as following: 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and up. Awards will be given to the 1st., 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Come on out and join the fun.

Trap field 1 is still not operational due to a broken motor. We are trying to locate a relay required to complete the repair. I will keep you all advised as to our progress.

We will be having our parking lot seal coated on August 1, 2017. Unfortunately the club will be closed that day and will not be open until 12 noon on August 2. Please mark your calendars. I will send out another reminder as we get closer to that date.

Club Member Tim Jevurek has agreed to join our machine maintenance committee. As he is an auto mechanic and owns his own auto repair business, I’m sure he will do a fine job after a little training form our head mechanic Clay Buhler. Thanks Tim for your willingness to serve the club.

I want to thank our good neighbors over at the landfill for donating gravel and for spreading it over our parking lot by the target barn. They did a really nice job. Thank you Lacey Ballard and crew.

With the passing of Brian Anderson, the BOD has decided that as an alternative to donating to his memorial fund for charity that we will start a collection to plant a tree with a plaque dedicated to his memory. If you would like to contribute, please place an envelope with your donation in the deposit drawer at the club or mail it to the following address. It is our plan to plant the tree this fall.

We are looking for spray paint cans to be donated to paint the steel targets on the handgun range. If anyone has any spray paint cans that still have a good amount of paint in them that are no longer need, bring them on out to the club. Please be sure that the cans are functional. Color does not matter.

As of late several dog dropping have been left as gifts to the club. If you bring your dog to the club, please make sure that they are supervised and do not interfere with the shooters. Also be sure to pick up their unwanted gifts.

If anyone is interested in getting certified for the handgun range, please contact Don Lyddon at 815-877-0754. You will need to bring a handgun, ammo, eye and ear protection, and a $25.00 annual fee.
