President’s Message
(August 2017)
The Old Geezer Shoot was held on Saturday July 22. The winner in each category will be posted on the club bulletin board. Thanks to Frank Halsey and team for putting on another good shoot. And as usual the pork chop sandwiches were delicious. Thank Dan Gengo for doin the grillin.
The Club is hosting our annual Silver Dollar Shoot on August 12 & 13. If anyone is interested in shooting in this event or helping out, please contact Dave Schroeder at 815-988-7552. The skeet fields will be reserved for the registered shooters. Trap, 5 Stand, and the handgun ranges will be open to the membership on both days.
With the passing of Brian Anderson, the BOD has decided to plant a tree with a plaque dedicated to his memory. If you would like to contribute, please place an envelope with your donation in the deposit drawer at the club or mail it to the following address by September 1, 2017. The tree will be planted this fall.

The BOD has approved the replacement of the cement stations and walkways on all three skeet field as they are badly cracked and some of them are sagging below grade. The plan is to replace the cement on at least two fields this fall and maybe all three. If not, the third field will be completed next spring. When a final plan has been determined, I will notify you of the scheduled work.
We have some new summer club hats for sale at $20.00 each. The hats are located in the book case on the back wall of the club house. Put the money in an envelope and place it in the club deposit drawer. Be sure to mark with envelope indicating that the money is for a hat purchase.
It appears that some members are not logging out the remotes for sport clays/5 stand. Please be sure to logout the remotes by signing the log sheet that is in the drawer with the remotes. Also, only club remotes are to be used. Personal remotes are prohibited from being used on this venue. Reason being is that we cannot get an accurate target count if other remotes are used.
Trap field 1 is still not operational due to a broken motor. I will keep you all advised as to our progress.
If anyone is interested in getting certified for the handgun range, please contact Don Lyddon at 815-877-0754. You will need to bring a handgun, ammo, eye and ear protection, and a $25.00 annual fee.
